Episode 009 - Westfield HS Head football coach Jacob Gilbert

  • Huge idea #1 - Don't discipline every kid the same - Coach Gilbert shares a story of a wide receiver who was super healthy - the kid asked to be disciplined every time he drops a ball - he expected to have to run laps or do push-ups, but instead Coach made him eat a Snickers!  And it worked!

  • Huge idea #2 - The 3 Top Priorities for a Youth Sports Coach:
  1. Did the kids return next year?
  2. Did the kids learn technique and improve?
  3. Did the kids learn and grow in character?

2 Quick Actions

1 - If you enjoy the podcasts it is a HUGE help if you write a review in iTunes or Stitcher (or both!).  To thank you for taking the time - the first 25 people to write a review will receive a free Sports Armband for your iPhone or Android device - see the details on the podcast tab at winningyouthcoaching.com.
