As a follow-up to the last email regarding middle-school tryouts - I have been talking to lots of coaches and parents about kids stressing out over tryouts and how this impacts their performance negatively.

2 great resources to help your kids with this:
1 - Coaches/Parents:
The book 'The Inner Game of Tennis: The Classic Guide to the Mental Side of Peak Performance' is simply the best book written about how to 'quiet your mind' in high-pressure situations in sports, and this book applies to all sports, not just tennis.  Pete Carroll and Jim Tressel have used this with their teams for years.  It is written by W. Timothy Gallwey.
Janis Meredith from Positive Sports Parenting has a 6-part podcast series with different experts covering topics on mental toughness.
